Letter from the Office of the Mayor
City of Stephenville, Texas
January 15, 2025
To All Citizens,
As we reflect on the remarkable life of former President Jimmy Carter, we are reminded of his profound dedication to service, kindness, and the betterment of others. One of the causes closest to his heart was Habitat for Humanity, an organization that works tirelessly to provide affordable housing for families in need.
Throughout his life, President Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, have worked alongside volunteers and homeowners to build homes and hope. Their commitment to Habitat for Humanity’s mission has left a lasting legacy, one that we can all be a part of here in Stephenville, Texas.
In honor of President Carter’s extraordinary contributions, I encourage each of you to consider supporting our local Habitat for Humanity chapter. Whether through financial donations, volunteering your time, or helping raise awareness, your involvement can make a meaningful difference in the lives of families right here in our community.
The local Habitat for Humanity office is working hard to provide homes for families in need, and your support can help them continue this essential work. No contribution is too small — every donation, every volunteer hour, and every act of kindness helps to build a brighter future for those in need.
To donate or learn more about how you can get involved, please contact the Erath County Habitat for Humanity offices at (254) 413-5869, erathhabitatforhumanity@gmail.com, P.O. Box 505, Stephenville, Texas 76401.
Let’s honor President Carter’s legacy by continuing his work, building homes, communities, and hope for those who need it most.
With gratitude,
Doug Svien
Mayor of Stephenville
