Social Media Commenting Guide
The City of Stephenville has multiple social media accounts to further connect with citizens and other folks.
We wish to promote effective communication and maintain a respectful dialogue in the social sphere. In that spirit, our commenting and moderation rules will maintain a productive and open forum for community discussion. Our social media channels are intended for community discussion among Stephenville residents, but non-residents are welcome to comment.
To make an open records request, we recommend going to our Public Information Request Portal.
Social Media Moderation Policy
Moderators may remove or redirect comments that contain:
Content that is off topic or not within the scope of the responsibilities of the City of Stephenville (or the specific departmental Page)
Abusive, profane or insulting language
Attacks on individual character or to the personality of individuals
Commercial endorsements of products, services, organizations or other entities
Political endorsements of parties, candidates or groups
Content that infringes on copyrights
Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability or sexual orientation
Substantially repetitive content
Solicitations of funds
Speculative comments on any ongoing investigation
Content that implies, promotes or encourages illegal activity
Sexual content
You may be banned from our Social Media pages if you act contrary to these rules.
