The Parks and Leisure Services Department encompasses Parks, Recreation, the Senior Citizens Center, Library, and City Cemeteries.

Our mission is to create a community. Our vision is to connect people through spaces, places, and programs.

The city owns two cemeteries within the city limits: West End Memorial Cemetery and East End Memorial Cemetery. City staff is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of grounds and selling of plots.

West End Cemetery is located at the intersection of Washington Street and Lillian Street across from Tarleton State University.

Library Online Catalog

The Stephenville Public Library (SPL) holds over 28,000+ materials including, fiction and non-fiction books, large print books, books on CD, and periodicals. The SPL also has 8,000+ DVDs available for check-out! Search our Online Catalog

Parks & Recreation Our Mission

The Stephenville Parks and Recreation Department (SPARD) operates at the Recreation Hall located at 378 West Long Street.

All registrations for leagues, programs, and activities can be completed at the Recreation Hall or online through your account portal with our software.
