Municipal Court
The primary function of the city's Municipal Court is to process all Class C Misdemeanors filed by the Police Department, Fire Marshals and Code Enforcement Officers alleged to have occurred within the territorial limits of the City of Stephenville. These include charges filed under the Texas Transportation Code, Penal Code, Alcoholic Beverage Code, Health and Safety Code, Education Code and Stephenville Code of Ordinances. Court duties include: receiving and maintaining court dockets; issuing warrants, subpoenas, and notices; perfecting appeal bonds; attending court sessions; and performing all duties prescribed by state law.
Municipal Court is held at Stephenville City Hall Council Chambers, located at 298 W. Washington Street.

FAILURE TO APPEAR ON OR BEFORE YOUR APPEARANCE DATE
May result in a warrant being issued for your arrest and additional charges for Failure to Appear or Violate Promise to Appear.
Consequences of ignoring this citation:
A: A failure to appear charge and a Warrant being issued for your arrest plus court cost and fees.
B. A request will be sent to the Texas Department of Public Safety for the denial of your driver’s license renewal.
