Construction of the Erath County Courthouse

The first courthouse was built in the late 1860s. It was a wood-framed courthouse that later burned. The second courthouse was built in 1887. This one was made of stone. The source said it followed the same path of destruction as the first one. Then the third courthouse, which is our present courthouse, was built in 1892 and was restored in 1988.
