JOB SUMMARY
This is a Full-Time position under the administrative direction of the Recreation Superintendent. The Athletics and Aquatics Supervisor plans, coordinates, and administers Aquatic and Recreation programs for the City’s Department of Parks and Recreation.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

(40%) Supervises and coordinates Splashville’s operations providing excellent customer service and a safe environment for all participants; manage the aquatics budget, including both revenue and expenses; ensure the operation and facility meet city standards and exceed guest expectations; maintain water chemistry and adhere to all state and local standards.

(30%) Hires, trains, schedules, and evaluates the performance of all part-time personnel including lifeguards and ensure all personnel are properly trained and certified; provide ongoing training to all lifeguards; maintain personnel records as required.

(10%) Organizes all aspects of city sponsored adult athletic leagues to include the enforcement of rules and regulations; hiring and training staff; preparing registration and league schedules; participating in the supervision of adult athletic events.

(10%) Serves as a risk manager for the department through training and certifying all part time and full-time staff in CPR/AED/1st Aid; provide updated emergency action plans for all programs and special events; develop updated policies and procedures in conjunction with proper city departments.

(10%) Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Kinesiology, or related field.

2 Years of related experience in recreation programming, specifically aquatics.

Possession of or able to obtain Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) Certification within 90 days.

Possession of or able to obtain Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatics Facility Operator (AFO) within 90 days.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Must have a valid Texas driver’s license, and currently have and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Must pass a background investigation and drug test.
