Splashville Lifeguard - Seasonal Position 

Hourly:  $9.00 - $12.00

JOB SUMMARY:

The City of Stephenville is seeking full-time and part-time lifeguards to work at Splashville approximately 20-35 hours per week. Please note that the pool is open from the end of May through the beginning of September.  Hours of operation are Tuesday – Sunday 1:00-7:00pm. This position reports to the Recreation Superintendent.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Watch and observe patrons in and around the pool

• Enforce pool rules and regulations to maintain a safe recreation environment

• Assist or rescue swimmers who need help

• Perform general cleaning of the facility and pool area

• Check patrons into the pool upon arrival

• Accept money from patrons upon arrival

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY

• Skills in organizing, planning, and preparing materials and evaluating goals and objectives.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• Must have lifeguard, first aid, CPR, and AED certification (or willing to receive it)

• Must pass a background investigation and drug test

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, swim a minimum of 300 yards consistently, and stay in the heat for a minimum of 7 hours.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The majority of work is performed outside and in water.
