Chief Buster White
Chief Buster White was on the police force in Stephenville from 1939-1952 and was Chief from 1947-1952.
When he first joined the force under Chief Frank Henson, he worked nights. There were 3 total officers. He had to use his own vehicle for patrol but the city did pay for gas.
One of the cases he investigated was the murder of service station attendant Crockett Ross in Stephenville on January 28, 1949 by Robert Bagwell and Dan White (who was put to death by electrocution on June 2, 1950).
